Lottie E. Flowers, 68, Topeka, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2008.

Lottie was born July 30, 1939 in Little Rock, AR, the daughter of Ellis C. and Lottie Mae (Lynn) Needham. She grew up in Topeka and attended Highland Park High School.

She worked at the Topeka Capital Journal, retiring in 2000 after 20 years of service.

She married Wayne Flowers on November 3, 1958 in Perry. He died September 22, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Elliott. Survivors include daughter, Roberta Flowers; sons, Ronald Flowers, James Flowers and Robert Flowers; five grandchildren; brother, Ellis C. Needham, Jr; and mother-in-law, Rose C. Flowers, all of Topeka.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Lottie will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
