Lori Ann Elizabeth Hansen, 61, of Topeka sadly left us on March 28th, 2024 following a long battle with kidney disease. Lori passed away in her home surrounded by her family and dogs.
She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years Richard Hansen, her three children Gary Saunders, Candice Fowler, Elizabeth "Sue" Puckett, her five grandchildren RyAnn Fowler, Austin Fowler, Mason Puckett, Sawyer Puckett, Charlee Puckett, and many loyal extended family and friends. Lori is preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn "Sue" Williams (McDaniel) and Chester Williams, her Brother Timothy "Tim" Williams, and lifelong friend Daniel "Danny-Bear" Vaughn.
Lori's canine companions were dearly loved and cherished. Stache, Boo, and Pumpkin have stayed behind with Richard, but Little Bear, Buster, Tinker and Sparky are fishing in Heaven's lakes with Lori.
Lori worked hard and put herself through school. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in many different settings including Geriatrics, Endocrinology, Cancer Center, and as a Utilization Review Nurse, but Geriatrics was her passion. Lori had a caring heart and made a difference in the lives of her patients, patients' families, and staff/coworkers. She was a great teacher and shared her knowledge with many, including her two daughters who followed in their mother's footsteps and work in healthcare.
A memorial service will be held on April 20th, 2024 at the VFW in Meriden located at 612 East Palmer Street at 1 pm with a private burial to follow. The family invites you to gather to celebrate Lori's life with food, music and shared memories. Lori loved gathering with her friends and family for potluck dinners and barbeques. Those who would like to bring a covered dish or dessert should feel free to do so.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the GoFundMe that has been started to help cover funeral costs. https://gofund.me/fdc95232
