Loretta "Nadine" Ball, 89, of Perry, KS, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Plaza West Care Center, Topeka.
She was born October 16, 1924, in Cummings, Kansas, the daughter of Ora Archibald and Sylvia Elizabeth (Johnson) Hulett. She was a 1942 graduate of Potter High School, Potter, KS.
Mrs. Ball was employed by Jones Mack, Perry, KS, Hallmark Cards, Topeka, Allis Chalmers, Topeka, and retired from Ferrell Gas, Perry.
She was a former member of the Carol Baptist Church, Atchison, KS and a member of the Women of the Moose, Topeka.
Loretta married Barnett F. "Barney" Ball on May 27, 1942 in Troy, KS. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1988. Survivors include four children, Ronald D. Ball, Topeka, Patricia R. (Carl) Duncan, Wichita Falls, TX, Gary L. (Lenor) Ball, Holton, KS and Judith K. Anderson, Topeka; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mickie Ann Brooks; nine siblings, Erma Davenport, Octa Yahn, Loma Jackson, Dorothy Womack, Rowena Hulett, Kenneth Hulett, Delbert Hulett, Elmer Hulett and Harley Hulett; a granddaughter, Brenda Nadine Hite and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Brook Hite.
A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry, KS. Loretta will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 3817 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
