Lorene R. Lawrence, 89, of Topeka, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014.
She was born October 17, 1924, in Hope, Kansas, the daughter of Louis and Susan (Krause) Fortmeyer.
She was a member of Faith Family Life Center, Topeka.
Lorene married Raymond S. Lawrence on October 10, 1948. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1988. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Brown, Topeka; a son, Steve Lawrence, Topeka; three grandchildren, Chris Brown, Heather Westfall and Lonny Dixon; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Imogene Harris, Abilene, TX.
A funeral ceremony will be 1 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka. Lorene will lie in state from 3-9 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Family Life Center, 3710 NW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS 66617 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
