OBITUARY: Lorel Marie (Grose) Freeman
Lorel Marie (Grose) Freeman, 61, Topeka, KS, died Tues., Feb. 21, 2012, at her home. She was born June 8, 1950, in Topeka, the daughter of Ralph P. and Lorraine L. (Hart) Grose. Lorel graduated from Topeka High School. She retired from the City of Topeka Treasurer's Office after 30 years of service. She was married to Robert E. Freeman, Jr. They later divorced. Surviving are three children: Dr. Steven P. Freeman (Shelly) of Prairie Village, KS, Kirsten R. Roach (Charlie) of Carthage, MO, and Wayne R. Freeman (Nikkie) of Olathe, KS; a brother: Kenneth Grose (Judy) of Berryton, KS; a sister: Margaret Sternberg (Ben) of Greensboro, NC; eight grandchildren: Brett Freeman, Ryan Freeman, Kyle Witte, Kylie Roach, Ken Witte, Maya Freeman, Aydin Freeman, and Camden Freeman; and a great-granddaughter: Ravyn Witte. Lorel donated her body to the Univ. of Kansas for medical research. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM, Thurs., Feb. 23, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS. Dress is casual, blue jeans preferred. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Road, Topeka, KS 66617 or Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606-2800.
