Loran Dale George, 86, of Topeka, passed away on September 4, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital.
He was born on September 3, 1935 to Willis and Marie (Beard) George in Wamego, KS. Loran graduated from Havensville High School in 1952.
Loran worked as a Car Inspector for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 39 years before retiring. He honorably served in The United States Air Force from August 1952 to November 1958.
On January 29, 1960, he married JoAnn George (Ganger) in Miami, Oklahoma.
In his younger years he was a Boy Scout Leader for his sons. Later in life he enjoyed going to get coffee with his railroad buddy's. He was a family man and loved his Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks. Loran would also get together with his Havensville High School Alumni friends once a month.
Loran is survived by his children, Tamara (Daniel) May, Lori Henderson, Nancy (Pat) Anderson, John George, and Anthony "Tony" George; Grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Stahlheber, Matthew (Angel) May, Amber (Mike Habegger) Henderson, Amy (Tyler) Huninghake, Corey Anderson, Kacie Anderson, Derek Elias, Michael May, Mercedes Elias, Riley George, Carsyn George, Kennidi George, Theodore George, Logan George, Conley George, Addison Henderson, Annie Henderson;
Great Grandchildren, Kelsi, Rachel, Cortni, Michael, Colton, Ava, Alleigh, Matthew, Alivia, Mason, Abel, Cash, Dax, and Asher.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife JoAnn George and both of his parents.
Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 10:00 am at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
