Lonny Ray Busey, 76, of Valley Falls, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023.
He was born June 19, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Melvin and Betty Lou (Peterson) Busey.
He graduated from Seaman High School in 1965.
Lonny enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1966 and proudly served for four years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Lonny treasured being outdoors. Traveling was a must, especially when it included a hunting or fishing trip. Travels included Colorado, Ozarks and Arkansas. Following his trips usually meant hosting an annual fish fry or a Wild Game Feed for his family and friends.
He worked as an earthmover builder for Goodyear until his retirement in the 90's.
Lonny loved watching western movies with John Wayne being his favorite actor.
Lonny married Hazel Litchfield on November 11, 1967 in England, she survives. Other survivors include his children, Michelle (James) Hunter and Craig Busey; siblings, Larry (Debbie) Busey, Gary (Patricia) Busey, and Sharon (Paul) Milner and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Betty Lou.
A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 N.W. Independence Avenue, Topeka. The family will gather with friends following the service until noon. Family graveside services will take place at 1:00 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Gardens in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Donor's Choice.
