Lonnie H. Hodges

Lonnie H. Hodges, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at his home.

Lonnie Harley Hodges was born November 26, 1932 in England, Arkansas to Lonnie F. and Lillie Mary (Richey) Hodges. He married Shirley A. Stewart on November 30, 1954; she passed away in 1982. Lonnie later married Karen S. Griffiths on July 12, 1985; she passed away on March 20, 2010.

Survivors include three daughters, Karen Hodges, Danville, IL, Therese and Sharon Hodges, Topeka; two sons, Michael (Christina) Hodges and Donald Hodges, Topeka; grandchildren, Matthew, Anthony, Jayson and Lonnie Harley, My'Kol, and Lisa Hodges, Topeka, and Kyle Hodges, Lansing, KS; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Hodges, Topeka; mother Lillie Hodges, Little Rock, AR, four sisters, Lois Bond, Evelyn Harden, Donna (Fred) Kassler of AR and Bonnie Koehler of TX, and many nieces and nephews.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie F., two wives, a brother Joe R., and sister Frances Blassingame.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at Half-Day Cemetery, Elmont, KS. Mr. Hodges will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart of America Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St., Topeka, KS 66614-2111.
