Lois Faye Whaley, 92, of Topeka passed away on September 6, 2022 at Kelly House in Topeka. She was born June 15, 1930 in rural Eskridge, Kansas the daughter of John Benjamin and Bernice Skeen Carson. She graduated from Eskridge Rural High School with the class of 1948.
She met Lavern Whaley at roller skating rink. They married on June 18, 1950 at Central Presbyterian Church in Topeka.
She was a secretary at the Kansas Legislature, State Board of Agriculture. Lois worked at Logan Junior High School in food service. Lois and Lavern were members of Second Presbyterian Church. Later Lois was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Topeka. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Paslay of Lecompton, Kansas; Wayne Whaley of Wasilla, Alaska; four grandchildren Scott Williams of Topeka, Carson, Nathan, Shaun Whaley in Wasilla, Alaska, one great grandchild, Aeden Williams in Topeka; one brother, Roy Carson in Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lavern in 2010 and two brothers, Ted Carson, Charles Carson and one sister, Beverly Jinks.
A memorial service for Lois will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Second Presbyterian Church, 210 NW Menninger Road, Topeka, Kansas 66617. The family would like to invite everyone to a meal at the church following the memorial service. www.davidsonfuneral.com
