OBITUARY: Lois Theresa Heideman
Campbell-Burns
Lois Theresa Heideman Campbell-Burns, 67, Topeka, passed Sun., Jan. 20, 2008, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born Oct. 31, 1940, in Seneca, and lived on the family farm. She was the daughter of Carl J. and Theresa F. (Cohorst) Heideman.
After attending Stewart Beauty Academy and the University of Hair Salon, she went on to own and operate her own shop, Mirror Magic. She attended KVCC and at age 48 received an associate's degree in business. Lois was an Administrative Assistant with the Dept. of Ag. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and attended Holy Name Catholic Church. She was also a member of Women of the Moose.
Lois was married to Virgil Charles Campbell who preceded her in death. She was also married to John L. Burns who preceded her in death.
Surviving are 2 daughters: Lesa M. Jackson of Hutchinson and Tamie J. Abernathy of Topeka; 3 sons: Kip C. Campbell of Kansas City, KS, Kord S. Campbell of Lee's Summitt, MO, and Shane C. Burns of Topeka; 2 sisters: Margie Engelken and Wanita Allen both of Seneca; 2 brothers: Donny Heideman and Kenny Heideman both of Seneca; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and "partner in crime," Carol Ables of Topeka.
Lois wished to say, "Thank you to my very best friend, Carol Ables, and to those who have been with me the past two years."
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thurs., Jan. 24, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. Lois will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wed., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
