Lois A. Holmes

Lois Holmes, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024. She was born August 1, 1936 the daughter, one of 15 children of Lester and Erma Redenbaugh Jenks. Lois attended Washburn Rural High School. She lived most of her life in Topeka. Lois worked for over 33 years retiring as a supervisor for Scotch Cleaners. Lois enjoyed bingo and going to the casino, going to garage sales, watching Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right with Bobby, bowling in her league at Gage Bowl and she enjoyed taking care of flowers in her yard. Her real love in life was her children and grandchildren.

Lois was married to Bobby Holmes on August 20, 1956 in Manhattan, KS.

She is survived by her family, husband, Bobby D. Holmes of Topeka; children, Denise Payne (Edward) of Knoxville, TN, Debra Dreher (Richard) of Knoxville, TN, Sharon Higdon (Jim) of Dalton, GA and Dennis Holmes of Topeka; grandchildren, Brian, Angela, Kristi, Kimberly, Cherish and Derrick; 13 great-grandchildren and two siblings, Bill Jenks of New Franklin, MO and Judy Murphy of Bonita Springs, FL.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 Monday, March 18th at Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm at the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel.
