Lois Jean Cummings, 83, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008.
She was born June 26, 1924 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Otis and Helen (Bahr) Cummings. She graduated from TopekaHigh School, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Education.
Lois was a secondary school teacher across the state of Kansas, later retiring.
Ms. Cummings was a member of the First Christian Church of Topeka.
Survivors include seven nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Charlotte Cummings Herbers.
Graveside services and interment will be 10 a.m., Wednesday June 18, 2008 at Mt.HopeCemetery, Topeka. Ms. Cummings will lie in state after 3 p.m., Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 1880 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS66606.
