Lloyd Homer Redmon, 90, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018. He was born December 7, 1928, in Jackson County, Kansas, the son of Homer and Mary (O'Connor) Redmon.
He retired from Kansas Power & Light in 1988. He was a member of the Seaman Community Church and past member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, playing bingo, bowling and fishing & hunting in his younger years.
He loved spending time with family and friends especially his grandchildren. He was known as the handyman always helping friends with things that needed fixed whenever they needed.
Lloyd married Dorothy (Andrick) Redmon on June 12, 1948 in Topeka, Kansas. She precedes him in death on December 21, 2015. Survivors include three children, Danny Redmon, Janet (Steve) Serbus, Judy (Lynn) Huerter; grandchildren, Stephanie Donaldson, Stacey (Jeremy) Kincaid, Aaron (Kristin) Huerter, Kelly (Andrea) Huerter, April (Brandon) Noel, Jeff Serbus; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Edward Redmon, Theron Redmon, Gene Redmon, Billy Redmon, Annie Lou Lahey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mom Mary (Carmichael) Redmon; a grandchild, Christopher Daniel Redmon; sisters, Mary Ann Bryant, Monica Olson, Margaret Ballard and brothers, Donald Redmon, Carl Redmon, Lee Redmon, and John Redmon.
A Funeral Ceremony will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Seaman Community Church, 2036 NW Taylor St, Topeka. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, in Topeka. Lloyd will Lie In State after 4:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
