Lloyd Cross

Lloyd Cross, 80, of Topeka passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020.   He was born August 22, 1939 the son of Andrew Jackson Cross and Pearl Irene Dorsey Cross at Batesville, Arkansas.  Lloyd was raised in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was married to Karen Sue Cross on June 18, 1960 in Hutchinson.   Lloyd and his family moved to Topeka in 1966. He worked for over 30 years for the City of Topeka Water Department.   He enjoyed arm wrestling, drinking a cold beer while tinkering in his garage, fishing, gardening, welding, watching wrestling on TV and cooking.  He was well known in Oakland for his lasagna.

Karen preceded him in death on August 4, 2018.

Survivors include his daughter, Janet Barlow and husband Steve of Topeka; siblings, Bill Cross (Sandy) of Hutchinson, Robert Cross of Hutchinson, Steven Cross (Sybil) in North Carolina, Thelma Holcomb of Arlington, Kansas, Bonnie Ingle in Oklahoma, and Patti Robbins in North Carolina; seven grandchildren, James, Andrew, Troy, Lauren, Tara, Sydney and William; 17 great grandchildren also survive.

Lloyd was also preceded in death by two sons, Jeff in 2013 and David in 2014; his brother Al; and his sister Jeanie also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Davidson Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Rochester Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
