OBITUARY: Linda M. McFarland
Linda went to be with the Lord on Thurs., April 23, 2009, at the age of 47. She was born Aug. 5, 1961, in Topeka, to Robert and Esther Bateson. On July 17, 1999, she was united in marriage to Harold H. McFarland at Wheatland Church in Topeka. She is survived by her husband: Harold H. McFarland of Topeka; children: Harold E. McFarland and his wife, Robin, of Topeka and Kyle D. McFarland of Gorton, CT; 2 grandsons: Dylan Griffin and Harold D. McFarland of Topeka; her mother: Esther Bateson of Topeka; 2 brothers: Melvin Bateson of Orange, CA and Donald Bateson and his wife, Rose, of Topeka; and a sister: Katherine Bateson of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Leo Bateson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Tues., April 28, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Linda will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Linda M. McFarland Memorial Fund, 1423 NW Tyler, Topeka, KS 66608.
