Linda Lee Hendrix

Linda "Mumsie" DeHart Hendrix, 80, of Topeka, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.

She was born November 2, 1943, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Lester and Doris (Allen) DeHart.

Linda was employed at Goodyear for 31 years, retiring in 2009. After retirement, she worked at Baker's Dozen in North Topeka and Herman's Smokehouse.

Linda spent many years loving James "Jim" Johnson until his passing in 1998. They enjoyed traveling to Vegas many times a year. They would stay on the old strip and would go to various casinos and shows.

Her favorite enjoyment in life was spending time with her family, close friends, and her granddogs. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing poker slots at the casino. Linda enjoyed many pots of coffee a day. She also enjoyed her yearly trips to the lake house at the Lake of the Ozarks with family.

Survivors include her children, Daryl Hendrix and Robin (Bob) Steele; step- daughter Paula Johnson; grandchildren, Kerri (Bryan) Watts, Jamie Schnacker, Kelsie (Jordan) Flickinger, Amber (Jarid) Lange-Castle, Cody Lange, Kaden Harrington, Kaitlyn Harrington, Teryn Brown and Tricia Brown; her great grandchildren, Addison, Anna, Hadlee, Nolan and Aspen and her grand dog, Woody Louise Hendrix; her siblings, Rick (Linda) DeHart, Randy DeHart, Doug DeHart and Roger DeHart; son in law, Tim Lange. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leslie Lange; step-daughter, Pam Johnson; her parents; brother, Jimmie DeHart and Billy DeHart and her favorite ex-husband, Charles "Chucky" Hendrix.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Parker Price Funeral home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608. Her family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Midland Care 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
