Lester Wayne Banks, 89, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018, in Topeka, KS.
Lester was born October 2, 1928, in Bronson, KS, to Joseph and Laura (Kellogg) Banks. He was an aircraft mechanic and ended his career as a mechanic for Southern Pacific Railroad.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carolyn (Bergen) Banks; five children, Shelley (Mark) Strome, David (Sherri) Banks, Donald (Gayle) Banks, Susan (Jon) Strunk, and Cindy Elkins; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Lester was preceded in death by eight sisters; two brothers; parents; and step-father.
Lester's wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be held in the future.
