OBITUARY: Leslie Marie Price



Leslie Marie Price, 56, Hoyt, lost her 5 year battle with breast cancer on Fri. evening, Aug. 31, 2007, at her home. She was born on Nov. 2, 1950, in Horton, the daughter of Buddie Lee and Dolores Irene (Stone) Salsbury.

Leslie graduated from Topeka High School in 1968. She worked for Southwestern Bell for 30 years, retiring in 2000, as a building operations manager. Most recently she worked for Development IV, Topeka, as a property development specialist.

On June 30, 1973, Leslie was married to Darrel Eugene Price in Topeka. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Benjie Salsbury, on June 9, 1977.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law: Jesse R. and Katy Price of Topeka; a granddaughter, McKenzie Price, to be born in November; her parents: Buddie and Dolores Salsbury of Topeka; 3 sisters: Tammy Houchin of Naples, FL, Sherry Salsbury of Corpus Christi, TX, and Amy Serrano of Barrington, RI; 2 brothers: Aaron Salsbury of Los Angeles, CA, and Eric Salsbury of Naples, FL; her dog, Baby; nephew: Dusty Price and his wife, Kim, of Hoyt and their children, Karlie and Kacie; nephew: Steve Lovelady of Baldwin City; sister-in-law: Sheryl Price of Hoyt; and brother-in-law: Jude Price of Topeka.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Wed., Sept. 5, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. Leslie will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tuesday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
