Leona J. "Poochie" Green, 89, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Midland Hospice House.
Poochie was born June 21, 1921 in Valencia, the daughter of Bert James and Levilla Mae (Hayes) May.
She worked for Hallmark Cards for 27 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of Northland Christian Church.
She married Deward S. Green on June 11, 1936. He died in 1988.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the Prairie Home Cemetery. Mrs. Green will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, after 2:00 p.m. today.
