OBITUARY: Leon Toledo
Leon Toledo, 78, Topeka, died Fri., Jan. 4, 2008, at Autumn Home Plus. He was born March 22, 1929, in Topeka, the son of Panfilo and Jacinta (Lopez) Toledo. Leon was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and had worked for 42 years in the Santa Fe Shops. He had served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara C. Toledo; his parents; and a brother, Antonio Toledo. Surviving are his children: Tisha and Charlie Blocher, and Jeri and Mike McCall, all of Topeka; his grandchildren: Andre Arbaiza, Bobbi Blocher, Adam and Rachel McCall; and 6 sisters: Esperanza Barajas, Ofelia Ortiz, Angelina Serrano, Margaret Lopez, Virginia Toledo, Alice Valdez, all of Topeka.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Tues., Jan. 8, 2008, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Military graveside honors will be conducted by a Fort Riley U.S. Army Detail at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Leon will lie in state on Mon., Jan. 7th, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 201 NE Chandler from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM.
