Leo Alvin Lester

December 12, 1932 — April 12, 2018

Leo A. Lester, age 85, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018.  Leo was born in Jackson County, Kansas and grew up east of Mayetta attending school there.  He was born the 6th son to Charles and Ethel Wayker Lester.  Leo was drafted into the U.s. army and served during the Korean War where he was stationed in Korea.  After the service, Leo worked as a fence builder for Whelan's Lumber yard before venturing out on hiw own.  He also worked on the family farm east of Mayetta.  Leo married Agnes Cott.  She preceded him in death January 28, 2015.  Leo is survived by two brothers, Laird of Topeka, and Eldon of Rossville.  He is also survived by two sisters, Arlene Edwards of California and Fern L. Congklin of Denver.  Memorial services will be Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka.  Inurnment will be at a later date at the Keene Cemetery.
