Lenn Matthew Hunter, 35, of Avon, CO, formerly of Lecompton, KS, passed away April 28, 2014 in Denver, CO.
He was born March 26, 1979 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Larry E. and Linda D. (Swenson) Hunter. He was a graduate of Lecompton High School. He attended Washburn University and Johnson County Community College.
Lenn had been employed by St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, KU Medical Center, Kansas City, KS and most recently worked for the Vail Valley Surgery Center, Vail, CO.
Survivors include his parents, of Lecompton; paternal grandmother, Daisy Hunter, Topeka; two aunts, Barbara Weidner, Topeka and Jancy Hunter, Silver Lake, KS and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lonnie Gene Hunter, his paternal grandfather, Elmer Hunter, maternal grandparents, Jack and Emadale Swenson, and a cousin, Jennifer Rayls.
A funeral ceremony will be 1 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS. Interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Lecompton, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lenn Hunter Memorial Scholarship, sent in care of First State Bank and Trust, 402 Plaza Dr, Perry, KS 66073.
