Lydia P. "Leida" Juedes, 75, of Topeka, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.
She was born August 5, 1936, in Kuldja, China, the daughter of Lubov and Peter (Babina) Amegin.
Mrs. Juedes was employed by KDOT in Topeka.
She was a member of North Topeka Baptist Church.
Lydia married Samuel Dale Imhoff on February 2, 1958 in California. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1983. She married Lawrence L. "Larry" Juedes, Jr. on June 9, 1972. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2004. Survivors include three daughters, LeAnna (Kin) Hickman, Oskaloosa, Kathy (James) Washburn, Topeka and Nida Imhoff, Topeka; two step-sons, Steven C. Juedes, Colorado and Kurt L. Juedes, Topeka; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Dr. George Amegin, Tony Amegin, Alex Amegin, and two sisters, Tavifa Granchukoff and Nida Lokteff. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Ben Amegin and a step-son, Kevin Juedes.
She was proud of her Russian heritage as an immigrant from Russia. She made several trips back to Russia and collected Russian Memorabilia. She enjoyed being a Russian interpreter, especially interpreting for the Treasures of The Czar Exhibit while it was on display in Topeka.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1329 SW 37th St., Topeka, KS. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. Juedes will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Kidney Foundation, 6405 Metcalf Ave Ste 204, Overland Park, KS 66202-4086.
