Lee Holmes, 67, of Topeka, passed into life with his Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, August 2, 2024.
He was born June 22, 1957, in Leesville, Louisiana, the son of Lindy and Patsy (Light) Holmes.
Lee attended the University of Missouri at Rolla. Rolla, Missouri was where Lee spent most of his childhood.
He enjoyed reading and having in-depth theological discussions. His interests also included Ham radio and genealogy.
Lee worked for KDOT from 1980 until he retired in 2011. He was currently employed by the City of Topeka.
Lee married Sherry Sherrer in 1981. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his children; Stefanie (Jay) Lunceford, Michelle (Jared) Wilson, and Nathan (Miranda) Holmes; grandchildren, Kylee Lunceford, Alma Wilson, Everett Wilson, and Ridley Holmes; siblings, Sid (Melba) Holmes, Valerie King, David (Kim) Holmes, and Paul (Carolyn) Holmes and mother-in-law, Ruthy Sherrer. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Seaman Community Church, 2036 NW Taylor St, Topeka, KS 66608.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Seaman Community Church. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seaman Community Church, 2036 NW Taylor St, Topeka, KS 66608.
