Lawrence H. Mohler, 97, Silver Lake, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018.
He was born January 16, 1921, in Silver Lake, Kansas, the son of Charles and Mabel (Reamer) Mohler. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1939. Lawrence was a lifetime farmer in the Silver Lake area.
Lawrence married Doris Alice DeGraff on August 6, 1945 in Troy, Kansas. She preceded him in death on October 27, 1993. Survivors include his children: Wendell (Doris) Mohler, Sharon (Dean) Smith, Charlotte (David) Stremming, Diane Jordan and Edward Mohler; brother, Robert (Elaine) Mohler, eight grandchildren: Troy (Abbi) Stremming, Angela Mohler, Pamela Mohler, Amy (Vince) Masilionis, Colby Smith, Heather (Shawn) Rapp, Rhiannon (Tim) Marquitz, Leslie Jordan (Thomas Charay); eight great-grandchildren, Madison & Allison Masilionis, Jackson & Sydney Stremming, Chase Rapp, Darion & Roycen Charay and Makenna Marquitz; sisters-in-law, Dolly Heiland, Bonnie Thomas and Marilyn Mohler.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charles R. Mohler and Glenn Mohler.
Lawrence was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He always enjoyed the time he spent with them. Lawrence will always be remembered for his contagious smile.
Funeral services will be 11 am, Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 N.W. Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
Lawrence will lie in state after 3 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm.
