OBITUARY: Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Miller
Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Miller, 50, Topeka, died Wed., Aug. 1, 2007, in West Columbia, SC. He was born July 15, 1957, in Wichita, the son of DeVer John and Patsy Jean (Kelly) Miller. Larry attended Highland Park High School and graduated from Sumpter High School, Sumpter SC.
He worked for AIS / Northrup Gruman in Calif. and Topeka for 26 years as an electronics technician doing computer repair. He was a member of I.B.E.W. and The 90th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing. He had been baptized in the Methodist Church.
Larry was married to Constance Sue "Connie" (Mayfield) Miller who survives of the home. Also surviving are: son: PFC John C. Miller; daughters: Diana M. Collins, Elizabeth Pruett, Laura Stuhr, all of Topeka, Kara Shibler of Delia, and Stacey Lekanoff of St. Marys; his mother: Patsy Ford of Topeka; brothers: James Miller of Derby, William Cummings of Topeka, Thomas Cummings of Wichita, and Michael Cummings of Texas; sisters: Jeanne Gomez of Lancaster, CA and Mary Rinehart of Kansas City; and uncles: Lawrence Miller (Kaye) of Latham, NY and James Kelly (Anne) of Bella Vista, AR; 15 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father and his wife: DeVer J. "Bud" and Jeanne M. Miller; and grandparents: Wilfred and Lillian Kelly and DeVer Franklin "Jeff" and May Miller.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment will be in Rochester Cemetery. Larry will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
