LaVern E. (Bud) Hollenbeck, 78, Topeka, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2005 at a local care center.

Bud was born June 26, 1927 in Muscotah, the son of Russell E. and Gladys A. Sisco Hollenbeck.

He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II.

Bud worked for Hall Lithographing as a Pressman for 29 years.

He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Bud also was a NASCAR enthusiast.

Bud married Marjorie L. Robertson on April 30, 1949 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include a son, James (Linda) Hollenbeck, Merriam; four daughters, Joyce (Don) Holdeman, Roxanne Hubbard, Susan (Dewayne) Baum-Carson, Christine Hollenbeck, all of Topeka; brothers, Dee Hollenbeck, Ontario, OR, Dwayne Hollenbeck, Topeka; three sisters, Rowena Gannon, Rossville, Marilyn Pitts and Bonnie Artzer, both of Topeka, 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Norma Cook and a grandson, Brad Hollenbeck.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Mortuary in North Topeka. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery. Mr. Hollenbeck will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday and family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M.
