OBITUARY: Mrs. Lauretta Mae Hurd
Mrs. Lauretta Mae Hurd, 61, Denison, died Sun. evening, Feb. 4, 2007. She was born March 19, 1945, at Girard the daughter of Alwin Henry and Dora Margaret (Hamm) Jagels.
She graduated from Girard High School in 1963. She worked at Southwest Caging in Topeka and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Topeka.
Lauretta was married to Robert Eugene Hurd, Sr. on June 9, 1963, at Hepler. He survives of the home.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter: Nicole D. Holt (Justin) of Topeka; 2 sons: Robert E. Hurd, Jr. (Robin) and Shawn E. Hurd both of Topeka; her father: Alwin H. Jagels of Girard; 2 brothers: Richard Jagels (Nancy) and Bruce Jagels (Carol) both of Girard; and 3 grandchildren: Sierra, Alexander, and Amy Hurd all of Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Fri., Feb. 9, 2007, at Calvary Lutheran Church. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. Lauretta will lie in state after 3:00 PM Thurs. at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
