Laura Mae Turnbough

Laura Mae Turnbough, 80, Topeka, died Monday, July 7, 2003, at her home in Topeka. She was born May 7, 1923, in Kulm, N.D., to Dan and Emily Eberly Hartman. She was a residen of Topeka for 45 years. Mrs. Turnbough worked for Crosby Brothers from 1959 to 1975. She later worked at Brewster Place from 1975 to 1999 as a CNA. She married Otto Earl Turnbough on Jan. 17, 1944, in Red Lodge, Mont. He died On April 5, 1987. Survivors include a daughter, Alberta Shipley, Topeka;a stepson, Bill G. Turnbough, Arizona; two sisters, Ella Larson and Mildred Albert; a granddaughter, Stephenie Poyner Markham; and three great-grandaughters, Peace Goodman, Patience Goodman and Hope Goodman. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Bobby Dean Trunbough; two sisters, Olinda Muller and Alfrieda Logan; and a brother, Arnold Hartman. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Mrs. Turnbough will lie in state after 3 p.m. Wednesday, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association of Kansas, 4300 Drury Lane, Topeka, 66604-2419, or to Children Bereavement Fund in care of Midland Hospice House, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, 66606-2800.
