Larry Purvis
Larry D. Purvis, 65, Topeka, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at a Topeka care facility.
Mr. Purvis worked in Bob's Body Shop for several years and he owned and operated Larry's Body Shop for many years.
He was born Aug. 24, 1937, in Lawrence, to Gilbert and Rachel Stout Purvis. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1956 and moved to Topeka in the late 1950s.
He married Rosemary S. Schwartz on Oct. 23, 1959, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Jean Schneider, Jan Burrous and Pam Cohee, all of Topeka; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Purvis will lie in state at the mortuary after 2 p.m. today. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 S.W. Arrowhead Road, Topeka, 66604.
