Larry G. Chapman
Larry G. Chapman, 65, Topeka, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at a Topeka hospice from complications of Emphysema. He was born Feb. 8, 1938, in Salina, the son of E.O. and Avis Ester Buck Chapman. He graduated from Highland Park High School and Washburn University. Mr. Chapman worked for the city of Topeka for 30 years and was a former member of the Topeka Police Reserves. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a coach for girls softball and boys baseball at Ken Berry. He was a Webloes leader. He was a member of Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion. He married Judith K. Berry on June 28, 1958, at the U.S. Naval Hospital Chapel in Millington, Tenn. She survives. Others survivors include a son, Gavin W. Chapman and his wife Chrissy, Topeka; a daughter, Leslie K. Seidel and her husband David, Topeka; and four grandchildren, Cameron Chapman, Jessica Seidel, Connor Chapman and Jordan Seidel, all of Topeka. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Chapman will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary .
