Khalil Mohammed Islam, age 66, of Topeka, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at the University of Kansas St. Francis Campus Hospital in Topeka. He was born December 22, 1954 in Kanas City, Kansas the son of Ardell and Patricia (Jones) Moten. Khalil served in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam era. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Reginald Moten, M. Tyrone Yates and Steven Moten and the mother of his son, DeAnna Porter. He is survived by one son, Keven (Desiree) Porter of Topeka; two grandchildren, Kaniya Porter and Raven Porter; his siblings, Gayland (Vanessa) Moten of Kanas City, KS; Darren Moten of Tennessee; Jamie Moten of Topeka, Michael Moten of Topeka; three aunts, Deborah (Adrian Washington) Richardson of Topeka, Donna Rayford of Topeka and Glenda (Steven) Counts of Kanas City, KS; a sister-in-law, Rhonda (Porter) Moten of Topeka and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Topeka. davidsonfuneral.com.
