OBITUARY: Kenneth James Weston, Sr.
Kenneth James Weston, Sr., 69, Topeka, KS, died Fri., Oct. 8, 2010, at Stormont-Vail Hospital's E.R. He was born July 14, 1941, at Indianola, IA, the son of Charles E. and Letha L. (Bishop) Weston. He graduated from Indianola High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Kenneth worked for American Yearbook, State of Kansas, and retired from the YWCA. He was a member of Northland Christian Church, Topeka North Post # 400 of the American Legion, Combat Air Museum, and the YWCA. Kenneth was married to Mary W. Gilliland on June 11, 1966, at Columbus. Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 sons: Kenneth J. Weston, Jr. and Leland C. Weston (Jolene); a daughter: Kimberly A. Zeller (Tim); a sister: Diane Burkholder of Indianola, IA; and 5 grandchildren: Megan Weston, Adam Weston, Aaron Weston, Rachel Zeller, and Michael Zeller. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; and a grandson: Ronald J. Zeller. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thurs., Oct. 14, 2010, at Northland Christian Church. A Fort Riley U.S. Army detail will conduct military honors at Rochester Cemetery. Kenneth will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wed., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
