Kenneth D. Linder, 74, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Stormont-Vail Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born August 24, 1935 in Topeka, the son of Edmund D. and Bertha J. (Billings) Linder.
He was a 1953 graduate of Topeka High School and attended UCLA for two years.
He served in the U.S. Army from June 24, 1958 until being honorably discharged June 30, 1964.
He was employed by Edison Electric in Los Angeles and retired from Department of Administration Personal Services with the State of Kansas.
Survivors include seven brothers, Richard L., Melvin D., Larry D., Keith A., Marvin G., Dale E., and Jerry W. Linder all of Topeka; three sisters, Shirley M. Kincaid, Berryton, KS, Carol A. Tillman, Topeka and Betty J. Hewer of Placentia, CA; his aunt; three uncles; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-laws an sister-in-laws and friends.
He was preceded in death by four siblings, Evelyn Phillips, Sandra K. Best, and Charles E. Linder and Gary B. Linder.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Mr. Linder will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
