EUGENE, ORE -- Kelly Jackson, 25, formerly of Topeka, died Friday, Dec. 23.
Kelly was born March 23, 1980 in Topeka. She spent her early years here, in Broomfield, Col., and Coffeyville, before moving to Gypsum, Kan., where she attended Southeast of Saline middle and high schools. She excelled in cross country, track and basketball. She graduated in 1998 and attended K-State before joining the Navy and serving in the Ceremonial Guard in Washington, D.C. She married in January 2003, moved to North Carolina and had her daughter, Guin, the following year. The family moved to Oregon in 2005.
She is survived by a daughter, Guin Supanchick of Eugene; father Howard Jackson and stepmother Sue Jackson of Topeka: mother Bernice Goodwin of Salina; stepfather Robert Goodwin of Gypsum; brother Casey Jackson and wife Sara of Chattanooga, Tenn.; stepbrothers Tyler Goodwin of San Francisco, Calif., and Ross Goodwin of Everett, Wash.; grandfather Elmer Jackson of Topeka; and grandmother Anne Pritchard of Topeka.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Topeka at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, and at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Salina at Carlson-Ford-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio.
