Kathryn Louise Axelton, 86, Topeka, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020, surrounded by her family.
She was born July 28, 1933, in Topeka, the daughter of Amel and Delphia (Johnson) Peterson. She grew up in Olsburg and graduated from Olsburg High School.
On December 31, 1950 she married Marvin "Lee" Axelton in Olsburg. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Cleon Peterson.
Survivors include her children, Ron (Shelley) Axelton, Sharon (Rick) Moore, Karen (Tom) Arney, and Sherryl (Mark) Coufal-Ferretti; nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Kathryn had a strong faith and was a loving mother and grandmother. She provided a loving and wonderful home for her family. After the kids were grown, she began working at Cotton O'Neil Clinic in the Medical Records. She enjoyed watching the Royals and Kansas State Wildcats. She also enjoyed watching and tracking the weather.
Kathryn's family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Brookside Retirement Community and St. Croix Hospice for the care provided to their mom and grandma.
Funeral services will 10:00 am Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment will follow at Rochester Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:30 until 7:00 pm Monday, January 6, 2020 at Parker-Price Reception Center.
