Kathleen J. Tilley, 79, lifelong resident of Topeka, passed away on May 26, 2023. She was born December 28, 1943 in Topeka the daughter of Vernon and Thelma Rossiter Sheldon.
Kathleen graduated from Topeka High School in 1961. She was a homemaker. Kathleen enjoyed buying small kitchen appliances and gadgets. A trip out to eat, especially Red Lobster was greatly enjoyed.
Kathleen was married to Jewel E. Tilley on December 1, 1961 at Otterbein United Methodist Church. Jewell preceded her in death in 1994.
Survivors include her children, Amanda Tilley, Jim Tilley and wife Mindy, Julie Tilley and Courtney Tilley all of Topeka; one sister, Sherry Sheldon of Topeka; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Two grandcats also survive.
Along with her husband and parents, Kathleen is preceded in death by her brothers, George Sheldon, Robert Sheldon and Ron Sheldon. One granddaughter, Solana Sagun passed away on March 6, 2022.
Services for Kathleen will be held at the Mount Hope Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
Entombment will follow in the mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka Ks 66606.
