Kathaleen Jean Button

Kathaleen Jean Button, age 89, of Topeka, formerly of the Lansing, Michigan area, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Lexington Park Care Home.  Kathy was born June 7, 1933 in Concord, Michigan the daughter of James and Dortha (Newth) Davis.  She married William Button March 12, 1961 in Topeka. He preceded her in death April 22, 2020 after over 59 years of marriage.  Kathy provided child care out of her home for many years.  She was an active member of the Gage Park Baptist Church.  She enjoyed needle point and especially enjoyed walking and visiting friends in local care homes.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Margaret and a twin brother, Kenneth D. Davis.  She is survived by a brother, Dwane (Rosemary) Davis of Lansing, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.  A special thank you to her caregiver for over 13 years Edna Beatty.

She will lie in state Tuesday from noon – 7:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka.  Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jennings, Michigan.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Shelter and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.  davidsonfuneral.com.
