Karen S. Hodges, 59, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 at her home.
She was born March 20, 1951 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Roy Newton and Dorothy Mae (Roseberry) Griffiths. She was employed by My Place Club in Topeka.
Karen married Lonnie Hodges on July 12, 1985 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Roy Lee Flowers, Topeka; 3 step-daughters, Karen Hodges, Danville, IL, Theresa and Sharon Hodges, Topeka; 2 step-sons, Michael (Christina) Hodges and Donald Hodges, Topeka; grandchildren, Ashley Marie Flowers, Matthew, Anthony, Jayson, Lonnie Harley,II, My'Kol, and Lisa Hodges, Topeka, and Kyle Hodges, Lansing, KS; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Hodges, Topeka; 4 siblings, Ruby Hayes, Buddy (Jane) Griffiths, Jimmy (Connie) Griffiths, all of Topeka, and Raymond (Ellie) Griffiths, Chattanooga, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at Half-Day Cemetery, Elmont, KS. Mrs. Hodges will lie in state after 3 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart of America Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St., Topeka, KS 66614-2111.
