OBITUARY: June Marie Mossman
June Marie Mossman, 81, of Topeka, KS, died Tuesday at 12:30 a.m., April 4, 2006, at her home.
She was born Louise Marie Senter in Kansas City, MO on June 19, 1924. She was adopted immedicately after birth, by Loretta and Felix Eckerle, who changed her name to June Marie Eckerle. She attended Emporia High School.
Mrs. Mossman was a dance instructor, she recapped tires during WWII, an egg dehydrator, a bookkeeper for Jane Lee Dress Shop, a meat wrapper and grocery checker for A & P Grocery Store, an accounting clerk for the State of Kansas, and as a realtor for Town and Country Realty.
She attended Northland Christian Church. She was a member of several animal rights, humane societies, and conservation groups. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, water skiing, bowling, playing cards, dancing, traveling, antique hunting, and attending auctions. She loved people.
Mrs. Mossman was married to Fred R. Mossman on Sept. 6, 1952, in Topeka, KS. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Rogers and her husband, Harold Rogers of Topeka; her grandson, Chris Rogers and his wife, Julie of Meriden; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband who died on March 15, 2006.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Fri., April 7,2006 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence, Topeka, KS. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Mossman will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Thurs. at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Heart of American Chapter, 515 S.
