Julie Anne Tibbits, 45, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, due to a tragic motor vehicle accident. She was born on March 13, 1979, in Topeka, Kansas, to Robert Ervin Davis and Linda Sue (Smith) Davis. On January 3, 2002, Julie married her high school sweetheart and best friend, Steven Eugene Tibbits. Together, they raised three beautiful daughters. Julie found great joy in supporting her daughters at their school events and sports activities. She treasured family vacations, particularly trips to the mountains or the beach. She also spent countless hours boating with family and friends at Perry Lake and was a regular attendee of the annual Lake Ridge firework show. Recently, with a new move and home remodeling underway, Julie loved unwinding on her porch with a good book, coffee in hand, accompanied by her dog and cats. Over the past year, goats and chickens had been added to the family, marking a new chapter in their lives. Julie had a gift for storytelling, captivating those around her with her humor and infectious laughter. Julie graduated from Jefferson West High School in 1997 and went on to earn her LPN from Kaw Area Technical School in 1998 and her BSN from the KU School of Nursing in 2002. Her nursing career began at Presbyterian Manor as a CNA before attending college. Later, she worked as an LPN at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where she started as an OB-Scrub Tech while attending KU. Upon earning her BSN, Julie worked as an OB and Pediatric nurse at LMH for many years. In May of 2023, she embraced a new role at Shawnee Heights Elementary School, where she found great joy working with the children who came to her office for care, comfort, or simply a smile. Julie is survived by her husband Steve; her three daughters, Mary "Meg," Ali, and Chloe; her parents, Robert and Linda Davis; and her sisters, Jennifer Hildebrandt (Jeff Lober) of Topeka, KS, and Joleen (John) Fulcher of Shawnee, KS. She also leaves behind her nephews Trey (Enyerlyn) Ruiz, Cameron (Rhiannon) Lober, Ryan, and Jack Fulcher, along with a large extended family. A service will be held on September 28th at 10 a.m. at Parker-Price Davidson Funeral Home, located at 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS. Following immediately after the service, a Celebration of Life will take place at Seaman Community Church at 2036 NW Taylor Street, Topeka, KS. Please join the family in celebrating Julie’s remarkable life and sharing cherished memories of the joy she brought to so many.
