OBITUARY: Julia Mae "Judy" Tobin Mayer
Julia Mae "Judy" Tobin Mayer, 76, Topeka, died Fri., Jan. 16, 2009. She was born March 26, 1932, at Highland, the daughter of Harvey W. and Flossie M. (Sparks) Tobin. She graduated from Marysville High School. She owned and operated the Riviera Beauty Salon in Topeka. She was married to Jack D. Mayer; he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Robert W. and Richard W. Mayer; a brother, Warren Tobin; 2 half-brothers, Dale and Lowell Jenkins; and a half-sister, Merle Jenkins. Surviving are a son: Gregory Mayer of Kansas City, MO; a brother: Gary Tobin of Marysville; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Wed., Jan. 21, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. Judy will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at the funeral chapel.
