On Thursday, January 28th, 2021, Julie Helms, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at the age of 59. Julie was born on April 6th, 1961, in Clay Center, Kansas, to Olin and Rita (Blomberg) Remmert.
Julie received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Emporia State University, and she worked for the State of Kansas for 7 years before getting married to John Helms on July 22nd, 1989. Julie's proudest achievement was being a stay-at-home mom for her three children, Mandy, Alix, and Chris.
Julie had many passions, but they all had one thing in common: spending time with friends and family. Whether it be eating popcorn while watching Hallmark movies, playing games around the table, or chatting around the campfire, Julie surrounded herself with people she loved. Julie also invested herself in a Bible study group and a small group from church, where she strengthened her faith with close friends whom she cherished. She was an avid memory maker, quilting heirloom quilts and documenting her love of family vacations through the art of scrapbooking. In her spare time, Julie could be found reading a good book on her Kindle. Julie was well-known for her joyful spirit, extravagant generosity, and her contagious laughter.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Olin. She is survived by her mother Rita; her husband John; her three children, Mandy (husband Tony), Alix, and Chris; her sister Jeanne; and several nieces and nephews.
