Judy Joan Longstaff, age 81, of Topeka passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at her home in Topeka. Judy was born November 11, 1939 in Topeka the daughter of Arthur and Alice (Matteson) Frost. Judy graduated from Topeka High School in 1957. She married the love of her life, Ernest Longstaff June 9, 1956 in Topeka. Judy worked at the Family Service and Guidance Center in Topeka for over 11 years, retiring in 1998. Judy was a member of the West Side Baptist Church and proudly served as Deacon of Fellowship and Coordinator of Fellowship and Membership. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and was excited to share her faith with all her family, close friends and sometimes those who were just in need of a little uplifting. Judy was a deeply devoted wife, mother and grandmother who had a true unconditional love for all. She loved her large family gatherings, holiday traditions, reading, gardening and collecting angels. Judy was a master in the kitchen, as well. There was not anything that she could not perfect!
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Larry, Bob, Jerry, Leonard, Don, Audrey and Shirley. Judy is survived by her loving husband of over 64 years, Ernie Longstaff; children, Pam Roberts (Jon) of Wichita, Becky Brinker of Kansas City, Steve (Lisa) Longstaff of Topeka and Lynda (Will) Cokeley of Delia; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 16, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the West Side Baptist Church. She will lie in state Thursday from noon – 7:00 p.m. with a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Side Baptist Church in Judy’s memory and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com
