OBITUARY: Judith P. "Judy" Purdie
Judith "Judy" Purdie 92, Topeka, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tues., June 12, 2007 at Delmar Gardens Retirement Center, Overland Park, KS. She was born Sept. 10, 1914, the daughter of Irl E. Gregory and Jessie M. Polley Gregory at DuQuoin, IL.
Judy was married to Buford O. Purdie on Dec. 24, 1933. They were married 59 years and 4 months.
Survivors include a son: Larry Lee Purdie and wife, Glenda, of Lecompton, KS; a daughter: Joyce Ann Kowalczyk and husband, Joe, of Kingsland, TX; 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Judy retired from the Bible Supply and Gift Shop in May, 1976. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Sat., June 16, 2007, at East Side Baptist Church, 4425 SE 29th, Topeka. Interment will be in the fountain area of the Topeka Cemetery. Judy will lie in state after 5:00 PM, Fri., at the church where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Contributions may be made to Missions in care of East Side Baptist Church, 4425 SE 29th, Topeka, KS 66605. Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
