OBITUARY: Judith Ann (Basart) Shadduck Meier
Judy, 69, Topeka, died Fri., Aug. 6, 2010, at her home. Judy was born Nov. 9, 1940, in Jewell County, the daughter of O. Roy and Lillian B. (Miller) Basart. She graduated from Mankato High School with the class of 1957. She was married to Adron A. Shadduck on Sept. 9, 1958, in Mankato. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2000. She had lived in Norton before moving to Topeka in 1972. Judy retired from KDOT. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was married to Joseph George Meier, Jr. on May 30, 2005, in Topeka. Surviving are her husband Joseph George Meier, Jr. of the home: son and daughter-in-law: Alan D. and Leanne D. Shadduck of Hastings, NE; daughter and son-in-law: Kimberly K. (Shadduck) and Lloyd E. McDonald of Topeka; 2 grandchildren: Jessica K Shadduck and Melanie M. McDonald; 4 step-children: Randy Meier of Topeka, Christine Meier of Georgetown, TX, Angela Meier of Topeka, and Kim Meier of Kansas City; 2 step-grandchildren: Jon and Josh; and a step-great-granddaughter. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Thurs., Aug. 12, 2010, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Judy will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wed., Aug. 11th, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM.
