Judith A. (Baldon) Foster
Judith A. Baldon Foster, 57, Topeka, went home to be with her Lord and savior on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at her home after a long battle with breast cancer. Judy was born July 5, 1947, in Greeley, Colo., the first daughter of Clark L. and Elsie Accola Baldon, of Denver. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver in 1965. After graduation, she worked at Denver Dry Goods until she met and married Stephen T. Foster, of Topeka, on Nov. 24, 1967. Two years later, their family began with Rachel Anderson, of St. Joseph, Mo., Kathleen Rumill, Ellsworth, Maine, and Chad Foster, Eskridge. Judy devoted her life to raising her family and serving her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and youth groups, playing the organ and piano, and singing and playing with duets, trios and quartets. Judy attended Living Waters Tabernacle from the age of 7 until 1985, when her family moved to Topeka. In Topeka, she attended Country Acres Full Gospel As sembly and Pentecostal Grace Church. The past two years she had been attending Christian Assembly in Weston, Mo. Judy found enjoyment in many avenues of life. A few of those pleasures were sewing, crafts, painting, reading, camping and riding motorcycles. But most of all, Judy enjoyed people and being able to bring the love of Jesus into their lives. Judy has five surviving brothers, Clark A. Baldon, Larry L. Baldon, Greg E. Baldon and Jonathan L. Baldon, all of Denver, and David B. Baldon, Round Rock, Texas. She has three surviving sisters, Laurel Sue Baldon and Rebekah Clark, both of Denver, and Susan Fjeldheim, Grand Junction, Colo. Judy also was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Carl, Annie, Janelle and Hannah. A brother, Stephen A. Baldon, preceded her in death in 1965. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Country Acres Harvest Church, 5030 N.E. Shaffer Road, in Topeka. Judy will lie in state after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N .W. Independence, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Judith A. Foster Memorial Fund, 2628 S.E. Golden Ave., Topeka, 66605.
