Juanita Marie Manis, 51, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010.
She was born June 30, 1958 in Holton, KS. She was the youngest child of four and only daughter of Vernon and Virginia (Ostrander) Rogers.
She was employed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas for 33 years. The employees she worked with were like family.
Juanita married Carl Manis on Valentines Day, 1987 in Topeka. She was a loving cherished wife of Carl for 23 years. He survives. She was a beloved mother of four beautiful children who also survive, Raymond Duane Johnson, Michael Jay Johnson, Crista Dawn Manis and Chelsey Marie Manis. She was the proudest grandmother of William Baumann, Alicia Roberts, Shellby Baumann, and Macy Roberts. She is also survived by her mother and her brothers, Jimmy Rogers and Lee Rogers. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Keith Rogers.
She will truly be missed by all.
Funeral ceremonies will be 1 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2010 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Half-Day Cemetery, Elmont, KS. Mrs. Manis will lie in state after 2 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Juanita Manis Memorial Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.
