Juanita L. Merrifield, 70, Grantville, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born July 3, 1937 in Hanamaula, Kauai, Hawaii, the daughter of Benedicto and Maxima Cabal Lorenzo. She graduated from Leilehua High School, Wahiawa, Ohau, Hawaii in 1955.
She worked in San Diego for the Naval Air Rework Facility from 1977 until retiring in 1997. She came to Grantville in 1998.
She married Harold E. Merrifield on Sept. 4, 1988 Le Mesa, California. He survives.
Other survivors include four sisters, Vivian Agbulos of San Diego, Berlina Mindora of Mililani Town, Hawaii, Josephine Lorenzo of Pahoa, Hawaii, and Evelyn De Los Reyes of Miliani Town, Hawaii; two brothers, Augustine Lorenzo of San Diego and Domingo Lorenzo of Gooding, Idaho; two sons, Daniel K. Clark of Chattanooga, TN and Cpl. Arthur L. Lagrimas, currently stationed at Hickman AFB, Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Genaro Casapangan and Frankie Casapangan and two sisters, Sally Damo, and Rosaland Lagrimas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Grantville United Methodist Church with burial in Grantville Cemetery.
Mrs. Merrifield will lie in state after noon Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
