Juanita L. Hoffmeister
Juanita L. Hoffmeister died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at Rolling Hills Care Center. She was born Feb. 6, 1912, in Topeka, the daughter of Bert and Amelia Griffith Donaldson. Juanita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry C. "Dutch" Hoffmeister, on Jan. 16, 1989. Juanita was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, a past president of DeMolay Mothers' Auxiliary, a member of Ladies of the Moose Lodge, a charter member and 50-year plus member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary, Beulah Chapter No. 34, Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Ancient Toltec Rite. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Charles H. and Donna G. Hoffmeister, Topeka; a sister, Leola Oldham, Oklahoma City, a grandson, Richard C. Hoffmeister; a granddaughter, Rebecca R. Tomlinson; three great-grandchildren, Raina Tomlinson, Jamie Tomlinson and Matt Tomlinson; and two step great-grandchildren, Mark Fisher and Dean Fisher. Mrs. Hoffmeister will lie in state after 3 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, followed by services of Beulah Chapter No. 34, OES. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 N.W.
